English as an Additional Language (EAL)

EAL support is given by The EAL Team. EAL support may be given in class, as a 1-1 session or in mini-groups. EAL support can be for Beginners, New to English and Advanced Learners.

English language and booster sessions take place in the EAL Base which is located next to the library. For some languages in Y11 it is possible to take a GCSE in your Mother Tongue.

The EAL Team gives pastoral and welfare support to students who are new to English and England. The EAL Team holds a daily EAL Clinic during Mentor time for drop in support. Friendship support is offered with EAL Club which is held three times a week during Break 1.
