Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education
Leader: Mrs Lynch
The P.S.H.E.E. Coordinator leads a team of teachers from all curriculum areas. Students will follow six programmes of study throughout the year. The curriculum will be supported by outside agencies who will come into the Academy to help deliver topics; the School Nurse, the Fire and Police Services, local Business and Community groups are all represented.
TEA will continue to develop links with other outside agencies to enrich the programme. Topics covered by both key stages include Emotional Health and Well Being, Drug and Tobacco Education and Sexual Relationship Education, as well as Careers: Information, Advice and Guidelines and Work Related Learning. Student progress is measured five times a year.
In addition, all students will be given the opportunity to take part in a one day enrichment programme taking them beyond the classroom:
Year 7- Team Building at Hampden Park
Year 8- Outdoor Adventure Activities at Blacklands Farm
Year 9- Enriching the curriculum through outside visits
Year 10- Enterprise Day led by local Business groups
There will also be opportunities for students to support local charities, visit local colleges and Universities, visit Lewes Law courts and other Local Government buildings throughout the year. Students will be able to be involved in School Council Activities and be kept up to date with all National Issues e.g The Big Vote and Anti Bullying Week.
