Assessment
Tracking Point Reports
Towards the end of each term the teaching staff assess the progress that each child has made, we call this a tracking point.
There are 6 tracking points every year. The teachers form the judgement based on classroom and tests conducted throughout the term and builds on the previous terms performance.
The tracking point is colour coded against the student’s end of key stage targets. The colour indicates if the student is likely to get to their target.
The target is based on their potential as indicated by their performance at the end of their junior school assessments. Sometimes it is necessary to alter their target upwards based on the amount of progress they are making.
The teachers also assess the student’s level of engagement with the work and finally they assess the homework set that term.
The three elements are then reported to students and parents at the start of the following term along with attendance information:
- Tracking point
- Engagement
- Homework
